5 common questions answered
NHTSA recall information identifies two Battery recalls and one Integrated Electronic Brake recall for the 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric. A lithium-ion battery short circuit may increase the risk of a fire, including a condition that may occur after full charging. The Integrated Electronic Brake system may detect an abnormal sensor signal and significantly reduce braking performance, which can increase stopping distance and crash risk. Waiting can leave a known safety concern unresolved. Hyundai advises affected battery-recall owners to park outside and away from structures until the applicable interim or final repair is complete. A prompt VIN check helps determine whether your vehicle needs action.
