5 common questions answered
NHTSA recall information identifies a possible damaged Electronic Power Steering connector that can remove steering assistance and make low-speed steering harder. It also identifies a brake booster problem that can remove power brake assist and lengthen stopping distance. Two air bag campaigns involve possible reduced inflation or incomplete second-stage deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, which can increase injury risk in a crash. These are safety-related concerns, not routine maintenance items. Waiting can leave a known risk unresolved, so arrange a VIN check and prompt recall service if your 2017 Hyundai Elantra has an open campaign.
